Isabelita Cabrera

Grade 1 and Grade 2
My name is Isabelita Cabrera, and I am honored to be part of the Fleetwood Bawden School community. I migrated to Canada in 2012, and growing up in two different countries has shaped my perspective as both a person and an educator. These experiences have instilled in me the value of diversity, empathy, and respect for different backgrounds—values I carry into my classroom each day.
This is my third year of teaching, and I am excited to be working with our Grade 1 and 2 students. I am passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment where every child feels welcome, safe, and valued. I strive to ensure that students not only grow academically but also build confidence, kindness, and a love for learning. My goal is to nurture each child’s unique strengths while fostering a strong sense of community in the classroom.
I also believe that education is most effective when it is a partnership between school and home. Building trust with families and maintaining open, supportive communication with parents is a priority for me. I see parents as an essential part of their child’s educational journey, and I look forward to working together to help each student thrive both in and outside the classroom.
Beyond teaching, I enjoy spending time outdoors—hiking, running, and soaking up the sun with my friends and family. I also have a deep love of travel, as it allows me to explore new places, experience different cultures, and continue learning in meaningful ways.
I am proud to be part of a school community that values inclusivity, collaboration, and student success. I look forward to contributing to the caring environment at Fleetwood Bawden and to helping our students grow into confident, compassionate, and capable individuals.
